Check out BlogTorrent. The premise of this project put together by the folks at Downhill Battle is to greatly simplify torrenting for the average Joe. Not only does it allow you to torrent something by just picking a file to upload, but it also wraps it up with a torrent enabled RSS feed. The cool upload feature is currently Windows only, but the concept is very promising. In fact, I've been tinkering lately with a similar idea myself. It's an idea whose time has come.

A fan of Air America Radio has set up a site to distribute torrents of their programming in Ogg Vorbis audio format (Ogg = open source mp3-like format). His enabled feed is at http://bigelow-springs.net/airamerica/rss.php.

Here's a comment from the site's maintainer, Tedd Kelleher:

I am very sensitve to copyright concerns, so I will terminate the site at the slightest hint of concern by Air America radio. I started it because I wanted to "Tivo" Air America, and I wanted to play with streaming, bittorrents, etc., and I though I would share my experimenting with others...

I have heard from the staff of Air America, to thank me for my work...

I've added the Air America Radio archive feed into the list of torrent enabled RSS feeds that Torrentocracy automatically can link into.

Working with Drazen Pantic of DV Guide (a site of miscellaneous torrents, including those Outfoxed clips I pointed to last week), they have updated their RSS feed to enable torrent enclosures. Their feed is at http://dv.open4all.info/rss.php. So you'll now be able to join DV Guide torrents directly from Torrentocracy now.

I've added them in the FeedsXML wiki entry and will do likewise in torrentocracy-feeds.xml for the next release of Torrentocracy. I've also added an enabled feeds category to this blog in order to more formally track the addition of enclosures into blogs.

The kind folks at etree.org have been nice enough to switch their torrent listings to now use enclosures. I'm still away from my computer so I can't test it myself, but if someone could add:

http://bt.etree.org/rss/bt_etree_org.rdf

to their feeds.xml list and reply to this entry, that would be great. This will be a big score for legal torrent downloaders.
